Editorial
The heart of our publishing process, the Editorial department is where stories and ideas are discovered and nurtured. Our editors work closely with authors, shaping manuscripts, ensuring quality, accuracy, and readability. This team is responsible for acquisition, developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading, ensuring that every book meets Luminar's high standards and connects with its intended audience. Production
This is where the manuscript transforms into a physical or digital book. The Production team manages the entire process from final edited text to finished product, overseeing design, typesetting, cover creation, printing coordination, and e-book formatting. They work with designers, printers, and digital partners, balancing aesthetic vision with technical requirements and budget constraints to create beautiful and functional books for all formats.
Marketing & Sales
Connecting books with readers is the mission of the Marketing & Sales team. They develop strategic campaigns, manage publicity, engage with media and influencers, handle social media, and oversee advertising. The sales side works with bookstores, online retailers, schools, and institutions to ensure our books are widely available. This dynamic team is constantly innovating to reach new audiences and drive discoverability in a competitive market.
Rights & Licensing
Expanding the reach of our intellectual property is the goal here. The Rights & Licensing team handles foreign rights, negotiating translations and international editions, as well as managing subsidiary rights like film, television, and audio adaptations. They work with partners around the globe, sharing Brazilian stories and knowledge with international markets and bringing exciting new forms of content to our audience.
Operations & Administration
Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the entire company falls under Operations & Administration. This includes Finance, Human Resources, IT, legal affairs, and general office management. This team provides the essential infrastructure and support that allows all other departments to function effectively, managing resources, supporting employees, and ensuring Editora Luminar operates ethically and sustainably.
Online Platform & Bookstore
Bridging the gap between traditional and digital retail, this team manages Editora Luminar's online e-commerce platform and our physical bookstore operations.
